The young Woods were visited today by the professional outfit AFC Wimbledon lead by Manager Marcus Gayle. Not many people gave us a chance in this game but Northwood reserves proved to be in an uncooperative mood.
The first half was a battle, with both side pushing hard on the opposition's defences.
There was some great play by Sam Sharples in the opening period, and this kept Northwood in it.
After the break, Northwood didn't give up, with Kevin Ayodele at full-back causing all sorts of problems down the right wing, and Lemar Simpson creating some great chances from the other side.
The rain started to get heavier and puddles started to form on the pitch, and the game was going to be a battle for everybody out there.
Then with ten minutes to go AFC Wimbledon got a corner, and although it was cleared to the edge of the box by Northwood, Wimbledon's number 10 Loius Theophanow hit the ball straight back into the net for the winning goal.
A good performance but unlucky Northwood!
